Flow

Front View (L) and Side View (R) of "Flow" that results from reading about recent events that caused deaths and economic losses. Water, mud, snow and lava can all flow under the right conditions. Water saturated soil can cause mass flows on steep slopes. Molten lava acts in a similar fashion. Typically, lava fields result from repeated flows that harden and are built up by subsequent flows. "Flow" represents a lava field resulting from three events. The black bottom layer is an old hardened layer, red is a fresh flow and the top layer is another layer that has cooled and produced hexagonal basalt columns.
